Geographical location of Omid School

Omid school is located in the center of Qazvin, on the first street of Iran; Which is, Sepah Street, to the east of Qapu gate.

History and culture of Omid School

Omid school is one of the old of the spectacular historical and spectacular buildings in Qazvin, which belongs to the late Qajar and early Pahlavi periods. This four-grade school was the first modern school in Qazvin. Omid school was built in 1283 AH under command of Mirza Saleh Khan Baghmishei, AKA Salar Akram, the ruler of Tehran and Qazvin at the time.

Salar Akram was one of the many people who took many steps during his reign to promote the city's health and security.

In the past, Omid school students wore uniforms and wore hats with the Omid school badge, which made them look similar and had a precise order. They were trained by attending school for 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Their curriculum was set up in such a way that it caused little fatigue for the students.

In 1382 AH, Omid school was given to the Cultural Heritage Organization, and in November 1391 AH, this school was designated as the center for documents and cultural heritage library, handicrafts and tourism of Qazvin province.

Architecture of Omid School

Omid school is built on one floor and its roof is designed as a gable, reminiscent of the cities of northern Iran. Most of the windows open onto the green yard of the school, but the windows of the southern rooms face the street and you can see people passing by.

Due to the fact that this school is located in the historical context of Qazvin, there are many historical places to visit on the way to visit Omid school.

You can start your journey from Sabzeh Meydan and after seeing Chehelston Palace, the tomb of four prophets and the Safavid government complex, you will see this beautiful and memorable school.This school is located on the right side of Ali Qapu gate. After visiting the school, be sure to take a look at this magnificent entrance to the Safavid complex.

At the end of the trip, you can also visit Sepah street; Walk the oldest street in Iran and visit the Sheikh al-Islam mosque-school and Jameh mosque.
