History and culture of Sheikh al-Islam School and Mosque
Sheikh al-Islam School and Mosque was made by Mirza Masoud Sheikh al-Islame Qazvini in 1321 AH and has been added to the old school (for the past centery). Sheikh al-Islam School and Mosque building has been registered on the national index of the National Heritage. Haj Mirza Masoud Sheikh al-Islam Qazvini was killed by the constitutional revolutionaries in 1328 AH.
Architecture of Sheikh al-Islam School and Mosque
The Mosque is relatively large and has a Shabestan (part of mosque designed for sleeping or nocturnal paryers) with stone pillars and arches and vaults. Sheikh al-Islam Mosque includes a Shabestan which is made of stone pillars and has a tiled altar.
Sheikh al-Islam School and Mosque is covered by arch and brick. The School portal is simple and formal with twenty-four. The main courtyard of the School is octagon-style which is surrounded with more than 30 cells on the first floor around it. On the east side, in front of the porch, there is another porch with two columns in front and there is a vault behind it.
