Hakim Cistern is located at the end of Sepah Bazaar, Rah Chaman neighbourhood, in Qazvin, Qazvin province.

History and culture of Hakim Cistern

Hakim Cistern was built by Haj Mirza Hakim, one of Qazvin's old doctors. There is an inscription in the cellar, which is written on a purple tile with a white line shows 1244 AH era and the poems on it are written by Juhari, a famous poet from Herat who lived in Qazvin. In front of the gate of this cistern, a Saghakhane (A very small space in public passages that Iranians used to water thirsty passeryers) is built at the same time as the cistern.

Hakim Cistern has been registered in 1957 to the National Registeration of Iran.

Hakim Cistern has thirty-five stone steps and two platforms for sitting and resting. Its reservoir is made of lime mortar and has a capacity of 900 cubic meters of water.
