Geographical location of Qorban Tower
Ghorban Tower is one of the historical monuments of the 7th or 8th centuries AH, which is located in Zandiyeh neighborhood of Hamadan, between Chaharbagh Shahid Madani and Taleghani Street, next to Ibn Sina High School.
History and Culture of Qorban Tower
It is known that the reason for naming this building as Ghorban Tower is during that Afghan uprising in the late Safavid period, a person named Ghorban made this place as his stronghold while to defend the insurgents, and save the locals. Hence, the mosque and the tomb are known by his name.
Ghorban was one of the narrators and memorizers of the Qur'an of his time who devoted his life to the Qur'an and hadith and guided people of his time. Then he returned to Hamedan and settled in a place that is now called Borj Ghorban or Qorban tower.
He died on the 19th of Jamadi Al-Awal 567, at the age of 79 in Hamedan and was buried in the crypt of the tower. Among his writings are the books "Al-Hadi" and "Zad al-Masafarin" which have been written in 50 volumes. Poems by Khaghani Sherwani and Movafaq bin Ahmad Maki about his position have been written. Among his students is Ibn Mamani Hamedani, who himself and his son were martyred in the jihad against the Mongols in 618 AH.
In 1312, during repairs under the tower, a crypt was found where the tombs of Sheikh Islam Hassan Ibn Attar Hafiz Abul Ala Hamedani and a group of Seljuk rulers were located.
Since 1330, the upper part of Ghorban Tower had been destroyed and collapsed by the order of the late Mohammad Taghi Mostofi; The head of the archaeological organization at the time was restored to celebrate the millennium of Bu Ali Sina. In general, the Sacrifice Tower has been slightly renovated in the last 30 years.
In the middle of the Sacrifice Tower on the arch of the crypt is a simple and ordinary tombstone that was built in the Safavid period.
Architecture of Qorban tower
The building consists of 1 12-sided brick tower with a pyramidal dome in the shape of 12 brick cracks. The length of the 12 sides of the tower is more than 2 meters from the outside and a little more than 1 meter from the inside.The external facade of the building consists of arches with a depth of 15 cm and a width of 123 cm on each side. This building does not have any inscriptions, bedding and decorations.

The tombs of Aref Qazvini and Bu Ali Sina are also located in the west of this beautiful tower.
