History and culture of Minoodar Square
Qazvin has had lots of name till now; like Bagh-e-Shar (literally mean city's garden), Naser al-Din Shah chose this name because of numerous gardens around the city. Minoodar literally mean gate of paradise and it has given from one of Muhammad's (an Arab religious, social, and political leader and the founder of Islam)hadith (literally means "talk" or "discourse" and in Islam refers to what Muslims believe to be a record of the words, actions, and the silent approval of the Islamic prophet Muhammad). There is an inscription at the top of this element which contains a verse of Qur'an (the Muslim sacred scripture) in Nastaʿlīq (one of the main calligraphic hands used in writing the Persian alphabet and traditionally the predominant style in Persian calligraphy).
Also because of the international conference on the Silk Road at 1358 which was held in Qazvin, a camel convey designed and placed at the central part of this square as a symbol for Qazvin is on the silk road which is still there and can be a unique subject to photography.
Minoodar Square located at the connection of numbers of main roads and is an eastern entrance of Qazvin. It is one the most important symbol of Qazvin.
Architecture of Minoodar Square
This element built based on Iranian Architecture and modern architecture. Vault, arch, mihrab (a semicircular niche in the wall of a mosque that indicates the qibla, that is, the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca and hence the direction that Muslims should face when praying) and Geometric design are clearly visible in the structure of its façade. There is a geometric grid of 8 hollow triangles on its ceiling which is a symbol of 8 gates of paradise. These 8 hollow triangles transmit light and reflect it into the fountain. The plan of the element is in square shape which cut from diameter and each edge of it is along the diameters of the square. White color of the element and its structure like the rest of the features is a symbol of gate of paradise.
