Darbe Koshk Gate is on Naderi Street and Miremad Square in Qazvin province. Qazvin Tourism Information Center and Tejarat Tower are some of the prominent elements around this construction.

History and culture of Darbe Koshk Gate

Darbe Koshk Gate was one of the gates of Qazvin city during the Qajar dynasty. During this period there were 9 gates around Qazvin that were connected to eachother by the walls around the city. These gates are consisted of Panbe Risseh, Darbe koshk, Sheikh abad, Rasht, Maghlawak, Khandagh bar, Shahzadeh Hossein, Mosalla and Tehran, of which there are currently only two Koshk and Tehran gates (AKA Tehran Gadim Gate) remained. The rest of them Roads have been destroyed over time, due to the lack of attention.

However, the name of the gate of Rasht is still used for its old location.

Darbe Koshk Gate was tiled in 1296 AH during the reign of Qajar. This gate was located in the north of Qazvin's historical context and was then leading to Alamut, Roodbar Shahrestan, and the northern Qazvin’s Koshks (hunting grounds), therefore it had been called Darbe koshk.

Architecture of Darbe Koshk Gate

This gate has an entrance with a semicircular arch and four minarets. On either side of the entrance, two arches with a variety of tile motifs are projected outward and resemble a hug that the city has opened to its guests. Its exterior is designed by arched and tiled, and the interior is simple and brick style.
