History and Culture of Grand Bath

The Great Historic Bath was built by some of the elders and benefactors of Kaboudar Ahang during the Qajar period. During the past years, different sections were added to the building. The same extensions caused damage to various parts of it. At the request of the people and the order of the authorities, it was suggested that the bath be turned into an anthropological museum so that it could be a living account of the glorious history of Iran.

The antiquity of this bath and the period of its use, caused the authorities to register it in the list of national monuments of Iran in 2003.

Architecture of Grand Bath

The Grand Bath was built on a 400 square meter land. The materials used in the construction of the building are brick, stone and mortar. The plan of the bath consists of two entrances and the middle porch, two parts of Garmineh and Sardineh, which have 4 porches, and the other part is related to the bath stove, which was called cat in the local language. In addition to heating the bath water, the heat of this furnace went under the floor according to the bath system and also heated the space from below. This bath has 3 domes and 1treasury.
