Geographical location of Barajin Tower

This tower is located in the north of Qazvin near Barajin park, and has a wonderful panorama as well as a pleasant climate.The air in this scenic area is cooler than in downtown of Qazvin due to the high altitude and also the crossing of the Aranjak River (or Ernezk River). As mentioned above, there is a wide river called Arangak on the left, at this location, and a tall tower stands out from above, which is named of Barajin area of Qazvin. From the top of this area you can see the whole city of Qazvin as if the whole city is under your feet. Barajin tower can be seen very far from the beautiful plains and deserts around Qazvin.

History and culture of Barajin Tower

Barajin Tower dates back to the 4th and 5th centuries AH. For this reason, the Barajin Tower of Qazvin is also one of Qazvin's historical sites.

Architecture of Barajin Tower

Overall, the Barajin monument is an interesting piece of work, and it looks like the diameter of the building is gradually diminishing from bottom to top. Barajin Tower is an octagonal platform about one meter high from the floor. length of each side of the octagonal is 70.3 meters. The first ridge of the platform is made of rectangular smooth stone. This is the only part of the tower that has been hewn out of hewn stone.The map of the tower consists of eight circular half-columns, arranged around the main circular part of the tower, at regular intervals. The distance between these half-columns is 70 cm, the circumference of the circular half-columns is 85 cm and the bumps between them are 60 cm. The distance between the main part of the tower to the edge of the octagonal platform is 20.2 meters, and the maximum distance between the niches to the edge of the platform is 60.1 meters and the bottom of the Barajin tower is 17 meters. Barajin Tower has been registered as a national monument of Iran on March 2, 1997 under registration number 1961.
