Sepah Street is the first street of Iran and one of the ancient one where is a place of numbers of historical monuments. Mirza Karim Bath house is one of them that dates back to Qajar era. It's located in Mahdieh Alley, Sepah Street (aka Shohada Street), Qazvin, Qazvin Province, Iran.  

History and culture of Mirza Karim Bathhouse

Since the water pipe bursted in Esfand (the twelfth and final month of the Solar Hijri calendar, the official calendar of Iran and Afghanistan), 1392, the eastern wall of the bath house cracked and made a great deal of mud and silt penetrate inside the bath, so in Tir (the fourth month of the Solar Hijri calendar),1394, the plan of restoration began by support and supervision of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Qazvin, so to conserve the bath house  they evacuated the mud and silt and restored cracked walls.

By checking the ancient part of this bath house they discovered the layer of marvelous Persian miniatures and paintings which most of them illustrated in the eastern south side of the bath in 3 layers with arabesque patterns.

Tips and ideas

Sepah Street as you read, is the first street of Iran and one of the ancient one, hence there are lot of elegant historical monument. One of these monuments is Jame Mosque of Qazvin, located right next to the Mirza Karim Bath house. This mosque is one of the oldest jameh mosques in Iran which the magnificent architecture of it attract photographer a lot. There is only 10 minutes walking from the bath house to the mosque, so don't forget to visit there for sure.

If you want to come here in autumn and winter, help yourself with Baghalee (Cooked broad beans in brine, vinegar and some Heracleum persicum (aka Persian hogweed or Golpar) for more taste) and laboo (cooked beetroot in boiling water and should be served very hot), amazing Persian street foods which are really desirable in cold weather. Also you can drink a cup of tea, actually the national drink of Iran and usually served with cubed sugar (Ghand). Tomb of Hamdollah Mostofi is nearby as well, so don't forget to go sightseeing this small square brick tower which has a turquoise conical dome.
